On June 16th, 2026, there may be events related to the scale of a water-related disaster, possibly uncontrollable.

A state of emergency (CS) has been declared in four rural settlements in the Crimean district of Kuban due to flood risk. The district administration reported this on June 14th, 2026.

"An emergency situation has been declared in four rural settlements of the Crimean district. The decision was made at a KChS meeting," the Telegram channel states.

The emergency situation is in effect in the territories of Troitskiy, Kievsky, Southern, and Keslerovsky rural settlements. According to the administration, water is still flowing onto agricultural lands and filling the Afipsky canal after a dam burst on the Kuban River near the West Khutor area.

Authorities have warned of a risk of flooding residential homes in the Troitskaya stanitsa. Local residents have been notified of potential evacuation, and a temporary accommodation point has been set up at the stanitsa's House of Culture.

In the Crimean district, on June 3, 2026, an evacuation of residents from three settlements was carried out due to a partial overflow of the Kuban River over the dam in the West Khutor area. It was specified that population from the West Khutor, Gvardiyskoye, Urma, and Yodnik settlements are being evacuated from the potentially dangerous zone.

Later, on June 4, 2026, a state of emergency was introduced in the Slavyansk district of Kuban after a dam burst, and regional authorities began evacuating residents. A gap, 25-30 meters wide, formed in the dam on the Kuban River behind the "Neftyanik" garden non-commercial association.

As of June 13, 2026, heavy rains, storms, and floods affected several regions of Russia:

  • Khabarovsk Krai. Rains, hail, and storms caused tree branches to break, power lines to snap, and debris to fall onto parked cars.
  • Krasnodar. In several districts, water reached waist-high, flooding roads and tram tracks, and several cars were submerged.
  • Chelyabinsk Oblast. Streets turned into rivers, making it difficult for vehicles to navigate. Buses and cars became stranded, with some being flooded.
  • Sverdlovsk Oblast. Heavy rains posed a risk of flooding in five cities, including Nizhny Tagil and Revda. River levels rose in the region.
  • Moscow. A storm with thunder, lightning, and hail flooded streets in several Moscow districts.
