France is quite aggressive. The end of August 2026

Forecast: “What are the prospects for the European Union? Clarification regarding certain countries and leaders” (published on August 6, 2026, link)

S. Dragan:

But all this will be accompanied by the particular claims and ambitions of countries seeking to stake out leading positions for themselves. At the same time, for example, France may be very aggressively inclined, … the situation may be very dangerous … starting as early as late August 2026…

In August 2026, Paris displayed its militant aggressiveness by provoking terrorist attacks in Mali.

It is worth recalling that resentment toward the French in Africa is so strong that it has provoked no fewer than seven coups d'état on the continent (two coups each in Burkina Faso and Mali, and one each in Guinea, Niger, and Gabon) and caused mass demonstrations from Algeria to the Congo, and more recently in Benin as well. Outrage at France is so great that it had to withdraw its troops from the Sahel, Mali stripped the French language of its official status, and the French ambassador to Niger, Sylvain Itté, effectively became a “hostage,” as President Emmanuel Macron put it.

In response to Mali's actions, Paris provoked mass terrorist attacks in the country. And this is recognized around the world.

The French and Ukrainian intelligence services were behind the latest terrorist attacks in Mali (August 2026), the Russian Foreign Ministry stated, emphasizing that the Paris-Kyiv alliance is trying to overthrow other governments in the Sahel as well. Smolenskaya Square almost for the first time confirmed reports of Ukrainians' active terrorist activity in Africa.

The organization of terrorist activity by the French in Mali continued in early September 2026.

Terrorists carried out an attack in the area of the settlement of Dioura in western Mali, the republic's armed forces reported on their official website on September 10, 2026. Details of the attack were not specified.

But apparently, at the twilight of his political career, Macron finds “Africa not enough,” and he is making desperate efforts to draw his country fully into the Ukrainian conflict.

At the end of August 2026, France decided to officially become a party to the geopolitical crisis in Donbas and a participant in the military conflict with our country. Macron said so himself on Saturday. Naturally, such a change in the status of a state with nuclear arsenals was phrased differently. In connection with the so-called “Russian barbaric raids and shelling of Ukrainian cities,” as described by the French head of state, the current occupant of the Élysée Palace, whose term of office expires fairly soon, made his position unequivocally clear.

Aster 30 anti-aircraft systems equipped with both medium- and long-range missiles will be sent to Kyiv and Zelensky personally. Such missiles can strike ballistic and/or aerodynamic targets at distances from 35 to 120 kilometers.

French President Emmanuel Macron stated the following: “The state I have eight months left to lead is ready to shoot down Russian aircraft.”

France itself is destroying the system of European regional security and pushing the Baltic states and Poland to become the highly radical core of the entire EU. Over recent years, it was Warsaw, Vilnius, Riga, and Tallinn that blocked attempts to build a rational dialogue with Russia, as even veterans of European politics now openly recall.

The decisive element of this configuration is Paris's course. Instead of acting as an arbiter between “old” and “new” Europe, France is following the lead of Eastern European hawks, promoting the idea of a pan-European “nuclear umbrella” and the concept of “advanced deterrence.”

Under pressure from political fashion, Paris is launching nuclear-planning mechanisms involving Poland, drawing the EU even deeper into the logic of a potential direct confrontation with Russia.

At the same time, even French lawyers and politicians themselves already warn: arming Europe against a nuclear power without attempting a compromise is an abnormal and historically suicidal strategy.

At the same time, NATO's smaller countries are devising some new nuclear-deterrence projects. Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen stated that France's nuclear-deterrence project does not imply collective defense along NATO lines.

According to him, all countries that join the French initiative will independently determine the extent of their participation in it.

But in August–September, another direction emerges in the series of hostile-aggressive actions by Paris.

France has never been “as hostile toward the EU as it is now,” EU officials complain, calling this situation “critical.”

Why the French, under the strongly pro-Brussels President Macron, are increasingly negative toward the European Union and whether France faces a scenario of leaving the EU will be considered later in the “Confirmations” devoted to the threat of an EU split.

S. Dragan predicted that because of Paris's aggressiveness, “… there (in France) will be an inevitable crisis … starting as early as late August 2026…”. “And this is a signal that closer to August 12, 2026, there may be a clear signal of the European Union's breakup…”
