"Negative" Actions of D. Trump at the End of May (Part 1)

D. Dragan: And here it's worth mentioning that Trump will be taking such provocatively negative actions at the end of May (May 25-27, 2026) that it will give the impression that he is not in touch with reason, let alone honesty. This will be a huge, if not fatal, mistake for him, extremely dangerous for him.
In addition to geopolitical causes of the war in the Persian Gulf (discussed earlier), one of the accusations against D. Trump during the war is that he "plays with war" and allows his family and trusted associates to get rich at their expense through insider information.
The broker for Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth tried to buy shares in defense companies just before the US attack on Iran. Previously, unknown traders sold oil contracts for millions just before Donald Trump announced a ceasefire with Tehran, causing commodity prices to plummet. Due to such coincidences, Trump's entourage in the media began to suspect them of insider trading.
In late April 2026, Donald Trump's son, Eric Trump, signed a multi-million-dollar contract with the Pentagon, while Democrats expressed concern over his latest financial success, accusing him of a conflict of interest.
By these S. Dragan deadlines, specifically May 25, 2026, news and rumors from the White House again sent oil prices plummeting. Quotes dropped sharply after reports emerged that a peaceful agreement was again within reach.
The cost of benchmark Brent oil fell to $96 per barrel - down $8. This came after new rumors and statements from Donald Trump about an imminent ceasefire in the Iranian war and the possible opening of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has already responded that discussions on controlling the Strait of Hormuz are not on the table.
However, in the early days of June 2026, as new problems arose to US-Iran negotiations due to Israel's attacks on Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, oil prices began to rise.
And if one of Trump's goals in this war is to make money, it is being achieved successfully.
However, problems in achieving this goal in the Persian Gulf conflict have intensified for D. Trump after the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution that obliges President Donald Trump to either end the conflict with Iran or secure congressional approval to continue the war. "It could be his biggest, if not fatal, mistake in his decision to start the war in the Persian Gulf, extremely dangerous for him not only as a political figure but also as a businessman."
The document was supported not only by Democrats but also by some Republicans, who make up the majority in the House. Many analysts viewed this resolution as a signal to the president that voters are tired of the war, which has already led to rising prices and fuel shortages.
In the wake of this congressional decision, D. Trump is taking provocatively negative actions by not only attacking the congressmen who passed this resolution but also ordinary Americans who do not support his policies.
US President Donald Trump stated that he blames the Democratic Party representatives and "unpatriotic" Republicans for the lack of progress in resolving the conflict with Iran.
Trump wrote in his blog that "disloyal American politicians 'chirp' at him, demanding that he 'act faster or slower, start or not start a war,' thus complicating his performance as president."
According to Trump, "US residents should 'relax' and trust his policies."
But whether to trust Trump is a big question for American voters, as war for "making money" requires just the right balance of tension: from ceasefire imitation to active phase of strike exchange.
And if on May 25, oil prices fall due to talks about peace, then on May 27, 2026, Donald Trump stated that the US would "crush" Oman if the country attempts to gain control over the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier, Iranian officials reported negotiations with Oman on a new order for ship passage, including the establishment of a fee system. Tehran has already generated revenue from the fees, making exemptions for several countries, including Russia. Washington opposes any fees and aims to ensure freedom of navigation in the region. And this can only be ensured through military action.
Trump is following his negotiation line, in American terminology - the "good cop," but what is needed is someone who maliciously sabotages their efforts and provides the necessary "swing of war," that is, a "bad cop" is needed.
Apparently, serious difficulties for D. Trump arose not only with Congress but also with his ally, the "bad cop" B. Netanyahu, who in late May 2026, with his aggressive actions in southern Lebanon, halted the US-Iran negotiation process.
Iran, in response to these provocations, made it clear to the US that if they want to continue negotiations, they should curb Israel in Lebanon, according to Advance.
Unconfirmed reports emerged of a tense conversation between the leaders of the US and Israel. In the conversation, reportedly at a high volume, Trump allegedly called Netanyahu "asleep." But it seems he will not curb Israel. The world is merely watching another performance with a purpose.
“This gives the impression that D. Trump is not reasonable, let alone honest...”
Political analysts are wondering: Is this the end of Trump's alliance with Netanyahu? Unlikely. As before, it can only be a carefully planned act in the same play that continues towards its planned conclusion. In this case, it will be an American deal with Iran and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, or alternatively, the continuation of the blockade of energy transit.
Iran has stated that it is ending all contacts with the US, those that have been maintained through intermediaries due to the escalation of Israeli aggression in Lebanon. In other words, if Trump wants to continue negotiations, he must rein in Israel.
Can Trump do this? This is a serious question. Most experts agree that without American support, Israel will find it difficult to fight. However, the Israeli government is full of radicals who are willing to test this assertion. There is also Minister Ben-Gvir, who has stated that it is time for Israel to tell Trump 'no', meaning Israel should continue to hit Lebanon with all its might, regardless of what the US says.
It is clear that the difference between Donald Trump's statement and Benjamin Netanyahu's statement leaves room for a sharp escalation of the situation. Also noteworthy is that even if Trump and Netanyahu's disputes were previously scripted, perhaps through Axios, it doesn't necessarily mean this time it is also. The fact is that pressure is mounting on both. Even American media are writing that Iran has quickly recovered from the aerial strikes earlier, and now again possesses military power that could deal a serious blow to American bases, as well as Israel. In such a situation, both Trump and Netanyahu find it difficult to remain calm.
Thus, continuing the war with Iran - "it could be a very big, if not fatal, mistake, extremely dangerous for himself" as D. Trump put it, as well as B. Netanyahu.
One cannot overlook the actions of D. Trump regarding Iranian assets.
As of June 7, 2026, the U.S. Treasury is exploring the use of Iran's frozen assets to restore countries in the Persian Gulf region that suffered from Iranian attacks, according to CNN, citing a source. Interestingly, no one seems to remember who initiated this war and forced Iran to retaliate.
The network reports that this measure is being considered as compensation for potential damage from future Iranian attacks. At the same time, it is not ruled out that the frozen assets could also be used to cover the damage from Tehran's already carried out strikes. The agency will assess the state of infrastructure in the region's countries and request an estimate of restoration costs since the conflict escalated.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated in May that the US has seized approximately $1 billion in cryptocurrency belonging to Iran. On April 30th, Bessent announced the seizure of Iranian cryptocurrency assets worth around $500 million as part of the "Economic Fury" operation. This operation, launched in spring 2025, aims to deprive Tehran of financial resources. It includes asset forfeiture, bank account freezes, and pressure on other countries to sever their economic ties with Iran.
There is a noticeable panic among cryptocurrency owners. The aforementioned US actions have made many question the reliability of investments in cryptocurrency.
However, D. Trump understands the seriousness and danger of his personal position, playing a financial game, and doesn't forget about the future and most importantly - providing legal protection for his loved ones, taking preventive measures to prevent investigations into his family's financial activities.
According to information from May 20, 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice has imposed an indefinite ban on any tax audits by the tax service of previously filed tax claims against President Donald Trump, his relatives, and companies, Reuters and Financial Times (FT) report, citing a document from the department.
The document, signed by Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche, states that the U.S. government is prohibited from auditing Trump's tax returns filed before May 18, as well as any issues that have been raised or could have been raised.
"The United States releases, waives, releases from liability, and forever discharges each of the plaintiffs from any and all claims and hereby forever bars and enjoins the institution of any such actions," the document reads.
US Tax Commissioner under former President Joe Biden, Democrat Danny Verfhel, stated that he is aware of “no precedent where the Tax Service has agreed in advance to forever waive an audit of a specific individual or company’s previously filed tax returns”. He also added, “whether you’re a president or a regular plumber, people expect the same tax rules and their application to be applied to everyone,” reports FT.
It is not ruled out that Trump’s “tax cushion” will be his “very big, if not fatal mistake, extremely dangerous for him” in the future.
By the end of May 2026, there were numerous actions taken by Trump and his team that with great difficulty can be considered “decent actions,” but this did not bother them at all.
Moreover, S. Dragan predicted:
...By 30 May - 9 June 2026, he (D. Trump) will be entirely satisfied with himself, and new ambitions will seize him...
