...But before that, around April 11, 2026, we will still see an attempt to strengthen this organization (Vatican)
About the "restructuring of the Vatican" has been said in two parts of the Confirmation on April 6 and 20, 2026, but new information on this topic is emerging that requires consideration.
Specifically, "around April 11, 2026", more precisely on April 12, 2026, elections took place in Hungary.
And here, in the results of these elections, some experts see "an attempt to strengthen the Vatican" or even a demonstration of its power and influence on global political processes.
The outcome of the parliamentary elections in Hungary is partly attributed to the influence of the Vatican.
A press conference was held on April 17, 2026, at the TASS Information Agency's press center as part of the special project "Ukrainian Dossier," focusing on the results of the parliamentary elections in Hungary and their impact on global politics and the economy.
During the discussion, M. Delyagin suggested that the election results in Hungary were not only due to fatigue from Prime Minister Viktor Orban's rule and the mobilization of young voters but also the position of the Catholic Church.
“We saw a very high turnout. And I have the feeling that Hungary, as a Catholic country, fell under the influence of Vatican politics.”
M. Delyagin reminded that US President Donald Trump had a fallout with the Vatican, so the Pope was playing against Orban's team, which was supported by the White House, as Vice President Mike Pence was sent to campaign for Orban.
The Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, expressed her support for Pope Francis, to which Donald Trump reacted extremely negatively.
"The statements, especially towards the Pope, were unacceptable. I express, and continue to express, my solidarity with the Pope." This is what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni says about US President Donald Trump.
"It's unacceptable because she doesn't care if Iran gets nuclear weapons, as it would blow Italy up in two minutes." This is what Trump says about Meloni, in an interview with Italy's Corriere della Sera, mistakenly calling her the president. "Do you like it that your president does nothing to get oil?" - the American leader asks. - "I am shocked by her. I thought she had courage, I was wrong."
After the exchange of insults between the US President and the Italian Prime Minister, and the loss of power in the Hungarian elections, Washington is left with no allies in Europe. But this is not the last political blow to Donald Trump from the Vatican. In the person of Pope Leo XIV, he has made an enemy. And the power in the US itself is at stake.
Formally, this marks Washington's final break with Europe in the sense that Trump no longer has friends or allies in power in the European Union.
Meloni was the last leader in Western Europe with whom the fiery billionaire had a good relationship. As a moderate Eurosceptic and opponent of migration, she bet on US conservatives as a bulwark against her disputes with Brussels. However, the "paper plane" - as NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte called Trump - landing on the Pope did not leave her, as an Italian, with a choice: even Mussolini tried not to offend the Vatican.
Earlier, another European Trump confidant, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, suffered a crushing defeat in the elections. Although he built his image as a defender of Christian values, he would have taken a neutral stance in the White House's conflict with the Holy See, especially since he is not a Catholic, like the majority of Hungarians, but a Protestant. But now, that's no longer important - Orbán is leaving, and Hungarians have returned to the settings of 25 years ago, choosing almost the same Orbán, but younger. The US also played a hand in this, like King Midas in reverse: they supported the Hungarian government so persistently that it entered into the strongest dissonance with Orbán's positioning as a defender of Hungarian sovereignty.
Thus, among Trump's friends, only Polish President Karol Navrocki remains, who has not yet broken his special relationship with Trump. But first, in Poland, power is in the hands of Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who is pro-European. And second, for a Pole, Catholicism is a second identity, especially for a Polish nationalist. Therefore, Navrocki cannot make a choice in favor of Trump if he is forced to do so.
Thus, the completion of political absorption by the EU from Washington revolves around the figure of Pope Leo XIV.
While he is the first US-born Roman Catholic Pope and the second Pope whose native language is English, the relationship between US authorities and the leadership of the world's largest Christian concession, seemed to be different. But it only seemed that way.
On April 13, 2026, US President Donald Trump stated that he saw no point in meeting with Pope Leo XIV. He also emphasized that the pontiff should be aware of the inadmissibility of Iran possessing nuclear weapons.
Trump also expressed no regret for his sharp remarks towards the head of the Roman Catholic Church.
“I have to do what’s right. I have the right to disagree with the Pope,” he said, adding that he was not against the pontiff’s freedom of speech, but reserved the right to his position.
In recent weeks, Pope Leo XIV has been delivering anti-war sermons that are perceived as a critique of US actions in the Middle East. On April 13, Trump referred to the cleric as "weak on crime and foreign policy" and also took credit for his election. The Pontiff responded that he does not fear the US President and does not intend to argue with him.
A significant factor, according to some experts, is that the Vatican is not only a political and ideological institution but also an economic player. There will always be real estate holdings that belong, or have belonged, or will belong to the Holy See.
For example, in the Middle East. A large portion of Israel's land ownership belongs to the Vatican. And a significant part of this property is somehow connected to the "Riviera" project, the Abraham Accords, and so on.
Catholic assets linked to the Vatican exist in Syria, Egypt, Iraq, and even Iran. The Vatican is one of the largest economic players in the Middle East. And without it, solving issues there is extremely difficult.
As Dmitry Yevstafiev believes:
“Trump, despite all his peculiarities, retains a degree of common sense. He understands he lost. But the question is to whom? In the Middle East, it's not just about losing or winning, but about losing to whom. Did you lose to people with whom you can negotiate, or to those with whom you cannot? And that's what Trump is most worried about right now.
And here the Vatican steps in, saying: 'You're going to struggle with negotiations, but in fact, the real mediator for the Middle East settlement is us. You will come to us eventually.' It's a bold move for Pope Francis to openly confront Trump in this situation. He has no army, to paraphrase a famous phrase (of Joseph Stalin), but he did it.
As predicted by S. Dragan, «in mid-April, the Vatican demonstrated its strength».
Moving forward, S. Dragan forecasts:
However, by the end of April, the situation will be quite critical, forcing the Vatican to seek new avenues for solutions to remain involved in global process management.
The opposing side will appear stronger. And, if we understand the hidden currents in the realm of political power, at the meta-level of religious communities, Trump and Netanyahu, representing opposing forces, may significantly reduce the Vatican's influence.
In any case, it is very possible that in May, the Vatican, particularly Pope Francis XIV, may propose some new peace options or overall rules and relationships. This could even seem like something entirely new and even surprising in terms of such approaches to resolving conflicts...
