D. Trump is proud of his achievement in diesel fuel supplies

S. Dragan:
At roughly the same time, namely closer to October 10, 2026, D. Trump will be proud of his achievements.
The most important criterion for support from U.S. voters in presidential or midterm elections is the cost of fuel.
“American citizens vote according to the prices at the gas pump,” and D. Trump, as an experienced “political fighter,” understands this perfectly well. Therefore, he considers resolving the issue of reducing diesel fuel prices to be the most important condition for the success of his Republican Party in the November 2026 elections.
On October 9, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump reported on Truth Social about a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump agreed on the return of Russian diesel to global markets: the United States lifted sanctions for six months, until April 7, 2027. According to the American president, Moscow can provide 300,000 tons of fuel “immediately,” and even more in the future. The Russian leader confirmed that the country is ready to make deliveries.
The lifting of sanctions became a necessary measure for Washington as a result of diesel prices in the United States rising to a historic high. On September 21, 2026, the average retail price reached $6.53 per gallon. By early October, it had declined, but remained significantly higher than the previous year.
Before the crisis, Russia and the Persian Gulf countries accounted for 45% of global seaborne trade in diesel and gasoil. In August, their combined net exports fell by 1.6 million barrels per day compared with February.
U.S. refineries have virtually exhausted their ability to quickly increase fuel output. In early September, their utilization rate was approaching 98%. China has spare capacity, but Beijing periodically restricts supplies to maintain domestic market stability.
Washington considered banning diesel exports to Europe but abandoned the measure. The restrictions could have temporarily increased domestic inventories, but later forced refineries to reduce processing and the output of other types of fuel.
At D. Trump’s request, the G7 accelerated the release of 100 million barrels of oil and petroleum products from strategic reserves. Together with the planned increase in supplies from Russia and China, this could ease the shortage, although analysts do not expect a rapid exit from the crisis.
On October 10, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump, after announcing an agreement with Russia on diesel fuel supplies, stated that its positive effect is already becoming apparent. He considers this a major achievement of his.
“Listen, we need this. Oil prices are already falling like a stone. So we are very happy to get this,” Trump told reporters at the White House about the agreement with Russia on fuel supplies.
But, as many political scientists note, lower prices are not an end in themselves for D. Trump. Through this, he is solving several political objectives: fighting the Democrats in the United States, destroying the plans of Euro-globalists, and removing Kyiv leader Zelensky from office, who has long become his personal enemy.
Regarding the latter, D. Trump “shocked” everyone when he said that Ukrainians should choose a new president. He also said that Zelensky could have settled the conflict in Ukraine many times, but does not do so. According to the American leader, the head of the Kyiv regime wants to create problems for the entire world.
But besides lowering fuel prices, D. Trump needs other achievements that can be “sold” to voters for a Republican victory in the elections. And he does not stop using rhetoric about his successes in achieving peace in every possible conflict.
Addressing the Ukrainian conflict, D. Trump wrote on October 11, 2026: “An energy truce in the war between Russia and Ukraine takes effect immediately. Both sides have agreed. Do not violate it!”
While neither Moscow nor Kyiv officially reported a cessation of strikes on energy facilities.
Who is being disingenuous in this case? It is unclear.
In light of the U.S. leadership’s actions to organize supplies of Russian diesel fuel, S. Dragan forecasts “a noticeable rise in the dollar, expected around October 19, 2026.”
And as a consequence of these economic achievements, “closer to October 20, 2026, D. Trump may celebrate his victory.”
